House Fire #2

We got sent out at 4:30 am for this burn on Main St. I was glad that I went to bed early the night before. Luckily, nobody was injured, and we saved the house. For some reason, this one was harder to see than the house on Harrison that burned down completely. When inside, you can see family photos, and towels hung on the rack from the night before, not knowing overnight they would have a life-changing event. The fire was started from a lightning strike. See the pictures here.

First house fire!

Well, I finally got that monkey off my back. After two months on the job at the Belleville Fire Department, a fire finally happened on my shift. It was pretty well engulfed by the time anyone arrived -- you could see the smoke from a *LONG* way away. Here are the pics.

The View From Above

These shots were taken from the top of a 100-foot aerial ladder on Truck 1 of the Belleville Fire Department, Engine House 1. It is quite a view, and having climbed the ladder as well as ridden it up, I can say I prefer to ride. Much less work that way! View the pics here.
