First Batch of B&W Photos

Here are the first of my artsy-fartsy photos from class. At first, I was very skeptical about using black and white as my main photographic medium. However, after seeing the contrast and detail, I am quickly becoming hooked. These were shot in the Mark Twain National Forest during the Trespassers Wil Rally February 22, 2008, on a Pentax K1000 with a Vivitar 1:4.5 Telephoto Macro Focusing Lens and Kodak TMax 400 ISO film. Negatives were scanned, and levels and such were tweaked with Adobe Photoshop CS2 on my Macintosh PowerMac dual 2.5GHz G5. Click here for the photos!

Stoli the puppy

I got a new puppy recently, adopted from a no-kill shelter in Lincoln County, Missouri. She is a husky mix, and her name is Stoli, short for Stolichnaya (yes, like the vodka). I wanted a Russian-sounding name as a nod to her heritage. She was found on the side of the road with her brother and dead mother. The shelter had to bottle feed her until she was ready for adoption, since she was so small. I found her on petfinder.com, a great website to find exactly the pet you are looking for!
